Mohegan Sun Debuts Its New Slots Room; Growth Continues

CONNECTICUT – As reported by the Day: ``Mohegan Sun opened a new slot machine room over the weekend, hosting a by-invitation-only tournament on 261 new machines installed in the 7,000-square-foot space formerly occupied by the poker room.

``The new $1 and $5 slot lounge opened to the public on Monday. Members of the Mohegan Tribe are planning a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday morning.

``The new machines use "ticket in, ticket out" technology, meaning they accept and dispense tickets that can be used in other machines in the area or redeemed at self-service kiosks or at a booth. The machines also accept tokens or bills. Cash outs or wins of $50 or less will be paid out in tokens and customers will receive a ticket for larger wins. The technology is a first for Mohegan Sun.
