"Mary Cracchiolo, public relations manager for Beau Rivage, said this is the third year the casino has advertised for temporary workers for the peak period.

"…In October, Beau Rivage laid off 340 employees, some 10 percent of its work force. It cited lost business since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

"Then Casino Magic, citing the beginning of the slow season, laid off 40 people, 3 percent of its work force. In November, it laid off 70 more workers in a corporate-wide reorganization.

"…Thirty of the Beau Rivage workers laid off in October have since returned, and more are possible with the latest hiring call…"
