Mikohn Licenses TableLink Technology to Scandata Systems30 June 2000LAS VEGAS, June 30 (Press Release) -- Mikohn Gaming Corp. (Nasdaq: MIKN - news) today announced that in exchange for fees and royalties, it has licensed the table game management technology used in its TableLink(TM) system to Scandata Systems, SDN, BHD. Scandata is a main contractor of high end technology for Casino de Genting in Genting Highlands, Malaysia. Under terms of the agreement, Scandata will receive access to the proprietary equipment and software needed to upgrade Casino de Genting's current system to include advanced capabilities of Mikohn's TableLink system. Building on the casino's existing player tracking system, the agreement will allow Casino de Genting to install a chip and card tracking system on all table games incorporating the proprietary technology used in the most advanced tiers of Mikohn's TableLink system. These tiers allow the casino to capture data on the entire game including all bets won and lost, and all hands played. Scandata also has licensed Mikohn's table game jackpot technology, enabling it to add progressive jackpots to its table games. The only casino in Malaysia, Casino de Genting is one of the world's largest with what's believed to be Asia's most extensive table game department operating approximately 400 tables at peak periods, including baccarat, blackjack, dice, French boule and roulette within its five themed gaming areas. Casino de Genting is located on a 10-acre lake in the mountains about 45 miles from Kuala Lumpur. The popular resort area features several five-star hotels along with indoor and outdoor theme parks. ``The Scandata agreement establishes a win-win alliance for us with one of the leading casinos in Asia,'' said David J. Thompson, Mikohn's chairman and chief executive officer. ``Casino de Genting joins such other key partners as Crown Casino, Harrah's, and Mandalay Resort Group as we work to establish our TableLink system as the industry standard for table game player tracking systems worldwide.'' ``The TableLink system gives casino operators significant management and marketing advantages,'' Thompson continued, ``including the ability to rate a much wider range of players. Smaller, but still valuable players will gravitate to casinos where they can be rated and rewarded for their play.'' Mikohn's TableLink system is the casino industry's first comprehensive table game tracking and accounting system. With this offering, table game managers for the first time have access to the precise financial data, marketing and player tracking advantages long available to casino slot departments. The system consists of three tiers. The base module for player tracking includes in-rail player club card readers and table intelligence. The second tier adds the ability to record actual bets made via specially encrypted gaming chips. The top tier allows the casino to capture comprehensive game information including bets won and lost and hands played by means of a special card-reading shoe. Mikohn is a diversified supplier to the casino gaming industry worldwide, specializing in the development of innovative products with recurring revenue potential. Mikohn develops, manufactures and markets an expanding array of slot games, table games and advanced player tracking and accounting systems for slot machines and table games.
