Michigan Racing Commissioner Announces Jackson Harness Raceway Season Opening5 September 2000LIVONIA, Michigan –(Press Release)-- Sept. 5, 2000 -- Live harness racing returns to Jackson Harness Raceway with the opening of their Fall Racing Season on Wednesday, September 6, 2000. Post time is 7:30 p.m. The live pari-mutuel race meeting spans 23 nights on a Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday schedule through October 14, according to Michigan Racing Commissioner Annette M. Bacola. In addition to live racing, Jackson Harness Raceway will continue to offer simulcast wagering from Wednesday through Sunday. Signals from nine different tracks offer some of the best Thoroughbred and Harness racing nationwide. Simulcast wagering for Thoroughbred racing begins at 1 p.m. and Harness simulcasting begins at 7:30 p.m. Live horse racing is also currently underway at Hazel Park Harness Raceway, Great Lakes Downs, and Mount Pleasant Meadows. All seven of Michigan's pari-mutuel horse racing tracks are open for full-card simulcast wagering from noon until midnight. With the exception of Jackson Harness Raceway and Mount Pleasant Meadows, the tracks are open seven days a week. |
