Online sports book Intertops.com made Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines the early favorite to break the bank, but heavy betting on both Matrix Reloaded and The Return Of The King has kicked Arnie into third place alongside X-Men 2 and Matrix Revolutions. It looks like Hobbits are harder than a softy Cyborg when it comes to beating up the box office. Intertops.com is giving movie fans a chance to back their favorite blockbusting sequel in 2003 as Hollywood regurgitates a crop of hugely anticipated "guaranteed" crowd pleasers. "With so many great film sequels scheduled for 2003, it's tough to pick a winner," said Intertops.com Chief Bet Manager Michael Maerz. "We predicted that Terminator 3 would be the sequel to beat -- but our customers think differently. "There was so much action on both the Matrix Reloaded and The Return Of The King that it took only a matter of hours before Arnie was terminated from the top slot. "This weekend sees the release of X-Men 2, the first of our listed sequels to go live. It will be interesting to see how this film performs," he said. |
