Massachusetts Casino Boat Tied to Mob Boss13 November 2002MASSACHUSETTS – As reported by the Boston Herald: "The gaming outfit in Gloucester, which began running casino cruises in August, is headed by Adam R. Kidan, a disbarred New York lawyer whose resume is clouded by a string of bankruptcies and the unsolved gangland-style murder of one of his business partners last year in Florida. "Before coming to Massachusetts, Kidan, 38, was running SunCruz Casinos, Florida's largest casino cruise line. Kidan and two partners bought SunCruz from its founder, Greek business tycoon Konstantinos `Gus' Boulis, in September 2000 for $147 million. "After the sale, Boulis, who retained a 10 percent stake in the company, accused Kidan of failing to come up with the cash to complete the transaction. The relationship between the two men rapidly deteriorated, with Kidan eventually accusing Boulis of both threatening his life and trying to stab him in the neck with a pen. "Then on the night of Feb. 6, 2001, as Boulis was driving home from the SunCruz offices in Fort Lauderdale, a car in front of him stopped suddenly and another car, coming in the opposite direction, swerved in to block his path. A gunman in the second car sprayed bullets through the driver's side window, leaving the casino boat magnate mortally wounded. "To read the rest of this article, please click here. |
