Man Gets Probation for Role in $6 Million Scam11 March 2002LAS VEGAS – As reported by the Associated Press: "A Sandy Valley man must spend five years on probation for his role in a $6 million slot machine cheating scheme. "James Bulgarino, 45, was among 13 defendants indicted in September in a second wave of prosecutions against participants in the cheating ring. All 13 pleaded guilty to participating in an illegal gambling business. "The cheating ring was led by Dennis Nikrasch. "…Indicted with Nikrasch were Bulgarino's parents, Eugene and Joan, both of Las Vegas. "…James Bulgarino appeared for sentencing Friday before U.S. District Judge Kent Dawson. The judge ordered him to spend the first six months of his probation on home confinement and to pay $66,000 in restitution." |
