Man Arrested for Storing Poker Machines

York County, South Carolina -- As reported by (South Carolina) Herald: ``After receiving a tip from an anonymous source, York County drug task force officers on Wednesday arrested a Rock Hill man who they say had 17 poker machines stored in his garage.

``Eddie Otto Aiton, 53, of 3212 Pinetuck Lane was arrested on a charge of unlawful possession of poker machines, a misdemeanor.

``State legislators made video gambling illegal on July 1, 2000. It is not only illegal for owners to let people play poker machines -- and profit from them -- but it is unlawful to even own certain machines.

``...Authorities say Aiton had 17 "Double Jack" poker machines.

``...Aiton was not using his garage to run an illegal gambling operation, the task force said. He was just storing the machines there..."
