Magna to Develop Gulfstream Park, Santa Anita Park

ONTARIO – As reported by the Thoroughbred Times: "Frank Stronach, founder and chairman of Magna Entertainment Corp., said that the company will soon announce plans to develop land at Gulfstream Park and Santa Anita Park into retail and entertainment complexes.

"Gulfstream in Hallandale Beach, Florida, will get the bigger overhaul, as Magna plans to tear down the grandstand and build a shopping and entertainment facility covering 600,000 square feet as well as 400 residential units in its place. A new grandstand has been planned, but details have not yet been released.

"The grandstand at Santa Anita in Arcadia, California, will remain intact because of its historical significance to the area, but underused real estate on the property will also play host to a shopping and entertainment complex, the Toronto Globe and Mail reports…"
