Louisiana Casinos Win $179.2 Million in March

LOUISIANA -- As reported by the Associated Press: "Taking advantage of one of the traditionally busiest months for the gambling business, Louisiana's state-licensed casinos won $179.3 million in March, up from $171.7 million in February, state police reported Wednesday.

"...Louisiana's 14 riverboat casinos won $142.6 million in March, up from $135.7 million in February. Harrah's New Orleans Casino won $25.3 million, up from $24.1 million in February, while the slot-machine casino at Delta Downs took in $11.4 million in March, down slightly from $11.9 million in February.

"The five dockside casinos in Shreveport-Bossier City won $72.7 million in March, compared with $67.5 million in February. The pair of two-boat complexes in Lake Charles, along with the Delta Downs casino, won $39.4 million in March, down slightly from $39.4 million in February.

"The New Orleans-area market, which includes Harrah's and three riverboats, won $51 million last month, compared with $48 million in February..."
