Lottery 2.0 launches new private beta

25 January 2008

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Lottery 2.0, an innovative new online lottery, today announced the launch of their private beta, becoming the first online gambling site since Betfair and Flutter introduced their internet enabled betting exchange to pioneer the creation of a new market in the online gambling market space through technological innovation.

Lottery 2.0, based on the simple concept of the better the odds the better the chance to win, is a web application that uses the community aspect of web 2.0 not for social purposes, but to offer a dynamic new game offering quite literally the best odds possible.

Each game has 3 winners; 1 Jackpot winner, who wins 100 percent of the game amount, and 2 Jackpot-lite winners, who each win 20 percent. The Jackpot winner is the owner of the first number drawn while the 2 Jackpot-lite winners are the owners of the second and third numbers drawn.

In a €1,000 game, picking 1 number would give a player a 1 in 1000 chance to win the Jackpot and a 1 in 333 chance to win one of the three jackpots: either Jackpot or 1 of the 2 Jackpot-lites. Picking 5 numbers would give a player a 1 in 200 chance to win the Jackpot or a 1 in 66 chance to win 1, 2 or all of the three Jackpots.

In that €1,000 game the Jackpot winner would win €1,000 and the two Jackpot-lite winners would win €200 each.

The amount of numbers available in a game is equal to the size of the game. So for a €1,000 game there would be 1000 numbers available, 1 to 1000. Each number can only be selected once. For each game, both past and current, users can see how many numbers each user selected and what those numbers were.

As soon as all the numbers have been selected, the drawing goes off and a new game starts. The faster the numbers get picked the faster the drawings go off.

Credits are used to select numbers. One credit is worth one number and costs €2. Winning numbers are third party generated by the premier online random number generation site random.org.

The Lottery 2.0 website, located at Lottery20.com, was built using the very latest in web 2.0 technology and designed to be both easy to use and transparent in function.

The private beta will be invitation only, though once a user has an account they can use the refer-a-friend system to grant their friends immediate access.

Lottery 2.0 is fully licensed to operate via their Costa Rican online gambling license.

Their initial target markets will be the European, Canadian and Australian markets. U.S users are prohibited.
