Loan Shark Kidnapped Gambler31 March 2003ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – As reported by the (New Jersey) Courier Post: "A loan shark was sentenced Friday for kidnapping a gambler and imprisoning him over a debt. "Chang Ping Lin, 33, of Atlantic City loaned $20,000 to Feng Bin Ho, 24, at a casino in February 2002, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. The loan came with a daily interest rate of $100 for every $1,000 borrowed. "…Lin sought Ho, kidnapped him from New York in March 2002 and brought the victim back to Atlantic City, officials said. Lin kept Ho locked in his house overnight and threatened physical injury if he wasn't paid, they said. Ho escaped and reported the incident to police…" |
