Las Vegas-Style Casino Planned for Washington State27 March 2001KELSO, Washington –March 27, 2001 –As reported by the Oregonian: "A Las Vegas gaming entrepreneur will open a 15,000-square-foot casino in Kelso next to the Three Rivers Mall and Interstate 5. "Cleopatra's Wild Elk Casino will employ about 80 people, said Eric Nelson, owner of Cleopatra Gaming Management. Nelson signed a 10-year lease last week with the Longview-Kelso Elks for the building, and he turned in a business license application for a card room and steakhouse. "The casino would compete with the 12,000-square-foot Cadillac Ranch Casino in neighboring Longview, about 40 miles north of Portland. "…Plans for the casino include two bars, pool tables, a restaurant, dance floor, live entertainment, pull-tabs and more than half a dozen card tables with `Las Vegas-style 21 games.'…" |
