Kaukauna Casino Agreement Approved by County Board27 September 2000APPLETON, WISCONSIN – Sept 27, 2000 – As reported by The Associated Press: " The Outagamie County Board approved a casino-related resolution Tuesday, clearing the way for an agreement between the Lac du Flambeau band of Chippewa Indians and the city of Kaukauna to build a $55 million gambling complex at the site of the abandoned Fox Valley Greyhound Park. "…In Kaukauna, the proposal includes a $20 million casino, $30 million hotel and convention center and $5 million water park for the former Fox Valley Greyhound Park. A $92.5 million bonus would be split between the city and Outagamie County over 20 years. "…The Lac du Flambeau have also negotiated a deal with Lafayette County in southwestern Wisconsin to build a $120 million casino and convention center in Shullsburg. "…The agreement approved by the board Tuesday was with the city, the tribe and the tribe's business arm, the Milwaukee Federal Development Corp. The Bureau of Indian Affairs will also have to approve a final agreement…" |
