Kansas Tribe's Casino Request Rejected31 March 2004KANSAS – As reported by the Kansas City Kansan: "A federal judge in Washington, D.C., has rejected a request by the Wyandotte Nation to grant a temporary restraining order to prevent the closure of its downtown casino. "The judge ruled no restraint is necessary until action is taken against the tribe by the National Indian Gaming Commission, which ruled the tribe could not operate its casino last week. "The Wyandotte Nation is currently reviewing the legal status of the casino, which opened in August 2003 adjacent to the old Masonic Temple, also known as the old Shriner's building, Seventh and Ann. A final decision has not been made on the building's future, said the tribe in a statement…" |
