Kansas City Area Casinos' Revenue Mixed in May

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – As reported by the Kansas City Business Journal: “For the second-straight month, two Kansas City-area casinos posted higher revenue and two reported lower revenue in May compared with last year.

“The Kansas City market as a whole reported revenue of more than $52.3 million in May, up less than 1 percent from more than $51.9 million a year ago, the Missouri Gaming Commission announced Tuesday.

“…Harrah's North Kansas City Casino led in revenue among the four casinos for the sixth-straight month, with $17.7 million, down less than 1 percent from $17.8 million last year. Patrons totaled 261,355, down less than 1 percent from 262,203 a year ago.

“Ameristar Kansas City posted revenue of $17.57 million, up less than 1 percent from $17.55 million a year ago. Patrons totaled 331,949, down less than 1 percent from 332,982 last year.

“Isle of Capri reported revenue of $8.9 million, up about 7 percent from $8.3 million a year ago. Patrons totaled 179,032, up about 9 percent from 164,617 a year ago.

“…Argosy Casino posted revenue of $8.15 million, down 1 percent from $8.28 million a year ago. Patrons totaled 127,317, down 10 percent from 141,335 last year.”
