Judge Sentences Three Men in Casino Cheating Ring

LAS VEGAS – As reported by the Associated Press: "Three of the 17 people charged in a cheating ring that stole millions of dollars from Las Vegas casinos have been sentenced to federal prison.

"U.S. District Judge Roger Hunt on Friday also ordered Liang Tung Chan, Jie Bo Wu and Jun Huai Ma to pay more than $3.3 million in restitution.

"The three men were convicted of felony racketeering conspiracy will each spend between four and 18 months in a federal penitentiary.

"Prosecutors said the three men belonged to an organization that won millions in baccarat and blackjack games by crimping and marking playing cards.

"…Eight other defendants have pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentencing. Four others are fugitives.

"Another died and the final defendant has been convicted of attempted murder in Canada."
