ITV Blamed for Contract Withdrawal6 January 2006UNITED KINGDOM – As reported by the icLiverpool: "Liverpool-based betting firm Sportech has blamed ITV for its decision to withdraw from a multi-million pound contract to provide the television channel with interactive gambling services. "Sportech said yesterday it was bringing an early end to a loss-making deal that would have cost another £22m to complete. "The Wavertree Technology Park group, that also owns Littlewoods Pools, had entered into the contract to provide interactive betting services to ITV viewers 19 months ago. Last year, however, the service lost £4m, despite having had £12m invested in it since inception. "Finance director Gary Speakman accused ITV of failing to adequately promote its interactive services.
