Isle of Capri Casinos Unveil Slot Improvement Plan

13 June 2001

BILOXI, Mississippi – (Press Release) -- June 13, 2001 -- As the Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. (Nasdaq: ISLE -) has realized substantial growth over the past two years, company officials recognized the need to shift their focus to same-store growth in their new fiscal year, beginning with a multi-million dollar slot improvement plan.

The project, which will upgrade the Isle's slot product for the majority of its 13 casinos, will be put into action immediately. The company has dedicated more than $35 million for the fiscal year ending April 28, 2002 and expects to continue to purchase state-of-the-art slot technology in subsequent years to spur internal growth.

``The Isle of Capri has been in a highly progressive stage of growth over the past year and a half. It is now time to turn our energies to strengthening what we have worked so hard to build. By improving our existing properties with this slot plan, among other opportunities, we can meet our customers' expectations -- and that's always our bottom line,'' said John M. Gallaway, president and chief operating officer.

``Bernard Goldstein, chairman and chief executive officer, stated, ''The slot industry has evolved into producing a much more interactive product, and through our plan, we will be able to offer the most cutting-edge games available. We have put great effort into becoming a billion-dollar company with our expansions and acquisition; but, that is not enough -- we want to be the best at what we do and this slot plan will help us achieve that goal.``

Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. owns and operates 14 riverboat, dockside and land-based casinos at 13 locations, including Biloxi, Vicksburg, Tunica, Lula, and Natchez, Mississippi; Bossier City and Lake Charles (two riverboats), Louisiana; Black Hawk, Colorado; Bettendorf, Davenport and Marquette, Iowa; Kansas City, Missouri; and Las Vegas, Nevada. The company also operates Pompano Park Harness Racing Track in Pompano Beach, Florida.
