Isle Crowd Expands1 October 2003BILOXI – As reported by the Sun Herald: ``Despite the construction mess and temporary loss of parking spaces caused by a $75 million expansion project, business has improved at the Isle of Capri Casino. ```Some people come here because they're curious about the work and want to see what we're doing,' said Rich Westfall, a spokesman for the casino. ``Construction of the expansion, which includes an 1,100-space garage, a 396-room hotel tower, a conference center, 110-foot sign and new road, started in January. ``According to the most recent SEC filings, earnings at the Biloxi casino for the three-month period ending in late July were 9 percent higher over the same period in 2002. ``…Westfall credited the steady business to some savvy advertising and marketing…" |
