Intertops.com Sets Odds on 2000 NBA Draft26 June 2000Kenyon Martin, the senior forward at Cincinnati, is the 1/2 favorite to be drafted first in Wednesday's NBA draft, Intertops.com said. Even though a leg injury prevented his playing in the NCAA tournament, Martin is the choice of league scouts. "An athletic frontcourt player who is an effective low-post scorer, Martin is the hardest working player in the draft and has the potential to make an immediate impact in the league," said Simon Noble, executive director of Intertops.com. "Barring any late maneuvering that would effect the draft order, the New Jersey Nets seem certain to select Martin with the first overall selection in the 2000 NBA draft." The site listed individual odds for the two other players vying to have their name called first by Commissioner David Stern: Chris Mihm at 5/2 and Stromile Swift at 6/1. Mihm is a junior center at Texas and Swift is a sophomore forward at LSU. All other players entered in the 2000 NBA draft have been included in 'the Field' at 10/1 odds. The 2000. Betting is available through Tuesday, one day before the draft. All odds are subject to change. |
