Illinois Lottery Revs Up for New Harley-Davidson Instant Ticket

19 July 2001

CHICAGO, Illinois –(Press Release) --July 19, 2001 -- Crowds gathered in downtown Chicago today as the Lottery ``revved up'' its engines to launch its new Harley-Davidson instant game during a special launch event at the Harley-Davidson store, 66 E. Ohio.

Illinois hog calling champion Joe Congiusti was on hand to demonstrate his skills to the crowd, then to judge as several contestants competed in a ``hog calling contest'' to win $100 worth of Harley-Davidson instant tickets. Lottery Director Lori Montana also was a judge of the contestants, who were picked from the gathered crowd.

``Since Harley motorcycles are affectionately called 'hogs,' we thought it fitting to have a hog calling contest to introduce our new Harley-Davidson instant game,'' Montana said. ``We are thrilled with this new game and hope it is popular with our players.''

Harley-Davidson instant tickets cost $5 each and are available at Lottery retailers statewide. The top cash prize in the game is $100,000. Players also have the chance to win a Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 custom motorcycle instantly. In addition, the game has a second-chance feature.

Players can send in non-winning Harley-Davidson instant tickets to enter a second chance drawing for one of four Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 custom motorcycles or one of 1,680 Harley-Davidson prize packs featuring all sorts of fun Harley- Davidson premiums. Second-chance drawings will be held during the weeks of August 13, September 3, September 24 and October 29, 2001.

In addition, several Harley-Davidson dealers around the state have signed up to sell this special instant ticket.
