IGT Announces Gaming Machine Shipments to California8 June 2000RENO, Nev., June 8 (Press Release) -- International Game Technology (NYSE: IGT - news) today announced the initial shipments of gaming machines to several Native American casinos throughout California. The IGT machines include popular game themes like Wheel of FortuneĀ®, Little Green Men, Fortune Cookie and Leopard Spots from the Company's iGame-Plus machine series, which has proven successful with players and casino operators alike. The Company anticipates that in the month of June more than 1,500 games will be shipped into California. "This is an important day for our company. These first machine shipments mark the opening of a major new market for IGT's products," said Tom Baker, IGT President and Chief Operating Officer. Many of the California casinos have also expressed interest in IGT's EZ Pay cashless ticket system. The EZ Pay System allows players to take a ticket printed from one EZ Pay machine and insert it into another EZ Pay machine's bill validator. EZ Pay also reduces coin handling and labor costs, and enhances security with multiple reports generated by the system. Several installations of EZ Pay will begin at California casinos in June. Demand for EZ Pay in California tribal casinos is high because the market has been operating with ticket printer machines. IGT is a world leader in the design, development and manufacture of microprocessor-based gaming products and software systems in all jurisdictions where gaming is legal.
