Idaho Gaming Initiative Gets Endorsement18 October 2002IDAHO – As reported by the Spokesman-Review: "The Coeur d'Alene Area Chamber of Commerce has formally endorsed Proposition 1, the Indian gaming initiative on the November ballot. "`Voter approval of Proposition 1 will assure that Indian gaming can continue on reservations in Idaho, and that's extremely important to local people and businesses in our region,' said C. Richard Sams, chairman of the chamber board. "…The gaming initiative, sponsored by the Coeur d'Alene and Nez Perce tribes, would clearly legalize the video machines the tribes operate in their reservation casinos, while limiting their growth and designating 5 percent of gaming revenues for education…" |
