How Long Will the Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes Marriage Last?

27 June 2005

ZAPOTE, Costa Rica -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- It was only a matter of time before the recently outspoken and wild Tom Cruise was going to pop the question to girlfriend Katie Holmes. This past week, Cruise asked actress, Katie Holmes to marry him at the top of the Eiffel Tower in France. If only all guys could be so romantic. Cruise and Holmes have been on a whirlwind romance over the past two months since meeting in Rome. Many feel this is all a publicity stunt for the world's biggest actor and his supposed bride-to-be, who both have major movies out this summer.

Whether this is a publicity stunt or not, one thing is for sure, Cruise is acting like he never has before. The normally reclusive and subdued star has been seen jumping on Oprah Winfrey's couch and screaming that he is in love in many interviews. Holmes, whose movie "Batman Begins" is out now, and Cruise, who is promoting "War of the Worlds", out June 29 th , have not been seen apart for more than a day at a time for the past several weeks. Holmes even introduced Cruise at the recent MTV Movie Awards where Cruise received the MTV Generations Award.

"Whether this marriage ever happens or not, it sure has created a ton of excitement around both Cruise and Holmes," said Wagerweb.com CEO Dave Johnson. "However, marriages made in Hollywood have a way of falling apart rather quickly. We wanted to see if people felt this quick courtship would stand the test of time."
