Horseshoe, Louisiana Regulators Negotiating

17 March 2003

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana – As reported by the Associated Press: "Horseshoe Entertainment Inc. is negotiating with state casino regulators in an attempt to settle charges of unconventional business practices and get a full renewal of its riverboat license in Bossier City.

"`There are discussions, but there is no settlement at this point,' said Hillary Crain, chairman of the Louisiana Gaming Control Board. `I think they are a lot further along than they were even two weeks ago.'

…Horseshoe owner Jack Binion, former owner of Binion's Horseshoe in downtown Las Vegas, is accused by a state investigator of `extraordinary and inappropriate' business practices that hid significant information from Louisiana casino regulators.
