Hoosier Lottery Awards Scientific Games Instant Ticket Contract4 September 2001NEW YORK –(Press Release) –Sept. 4, 2001 -- Scientific Games Corporation (Amex: SGM) announced today that its lottery subsidiary, Scientific Games International, Inc. has been awarded a new two-year contract to provide instant tickets to the Hoosier Lottery. The award, which has two one-year renewal options, has an estimated value of $10 million for the initial period. Cliff O. Bickell, President, Scientific Games Printed Products, said, ``We are pleased that the Hoosier Lottery has once again selected Scientific Games to provide it with instant tickets. We reestablished our partnership with the Hoosier Lottery in 1997 and have produced 189 games since that time. One of our primary instant ticket goals is to deliver excellent customer service. When we are successful in retaining a current client through a competitive bidding process, it gives us the reassurance that we are realizing that goal.'' Established in 1989, the Hoosier Lottery has earned cumulative profits nearing $3 billion for the Indiana government. ``Continuing our relationship with Scientific Games will help us to concentrate our efforts on our instant ticket program,'' said Director Jack Ross. ``Teaming together to increase our instant sales will enable us to return more profit dollars to our state programs.'' About 30 cents of every dollar spent on lottery tickets goes to the state and those dollars are allocated to a variety of programs. |
