Hong Kong Exchanges Allows Gambling Company to List

HONG KONG – As reported by the Dow Jones: "The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Ltd., the main business unit of Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Ltd. , said it will consider listing applications from companies offering gambling outside the territory.

"Hong Kong Exchanges set three conditions for its new policy: gambling activity must take place outside Hong Kong; bookmaking transactions and their counterparties must be outside Hong Kong; and the gambling must take place only where it is legal.

"The new policy will enable casinos and bookmakers operating in nearby Macau, which like Hong Kong is a Special Administrative Region administered by China, to list shares in Hong Kong…"
