Home of the Brave27 March 1997Well now, given what Senator Kyl is planning to do to on-line gamblers with his new laws which will give state attorneys general the power to go to court to block Internet gambling and provide fines of up to $10,000 and two years in prison for those who operate Internet gambling enterprises. (It would also provide fines of up to $5,000 and one year in prison for those who use the gambling service). I guess we have to say America may not be the home of the free any more. But, you want to bet your little booty that it's still the home of the brave! Or foolish. Take this site. Super Lotto it's called. Right now, this guy will take entries from anywhere in the World and place them in the US$14 Million Jackpot. He will even use the US mail to send the entries cross state borders (in breach of the US postal act). By taking them from fishfinders in Minnesota, he is breaking the Consumer Fraud laws, I guess. He is up for Two Years in the Federal Penitentiary, 12 months in the New York State slammer, The Californian county jail after that. Why, the troopers will have to fight over the guy. Just look at what he is saying. "Each game costs $1 dollar to play and The California Bazaar charges a small service fee ($0.20 to $0.40 per game, depending on the number of games played) to cover handling/credit card/mailing charges. Furthermore, The California Bazaar will notify you via email if you have a winning ticket. You must play a minimum of 20 games and we only accept Visa, Mastercard, or American Express. The California Bazaar uses the Netscape Commerce Server, a high performance industry standard server that will securely transfer your credit card information to us. All orders must be received 12 hours prior to the next drawing and are subject to approval of your credit card purchase. Tickets will be delivered to the U.S. Postal Office for mailing prior to each draw. Please note that The California Bazaar will ship lottery tickets to U.S. addresses only. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please email: sales@ca-bazaar.com" This is the adventurous pioneering spirit that made America what it is today, a nanny state. This is the type of guy who fought at the Alamo, who raised the flag at Iwo Jima, killed him a bar' when he was only three. This guy should be a Canadian. So people around the world, get in for your chance at those 14 million greenbacks before it's too late and the forces of evil slam the guy in the hoosegow. This guy has just broken every law there is and a few they have yet to pass. |
