HollywoodPoker.com Hosts Charity Series15 March 2006BELL GARDENS, California – (PRESS RELEASE) -- HollywoodPoker.com, where the stars come to play, will host the second installment of the "Charity Poker Gone MADD Tournament Series." This event continues to support HollywoodPoker.com's quest to set the gold standard for philanthropy through poker to raise at least one million dollars for charities. The event is organized by Exit 131 Productions and The Bicycle Casino and will take place as part of their Winnin' O The Green tournament slate on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 4:15 p.m. Donnie Wahlberg (Annapolis, The Sixth Sense, Ransom), Carlos Bernard ("24"), Billy Burke (Ladder 49) and Ronnie Cox (Beverly Hills Cop, Total Recall) are expected to attend this event as well as other celebrities from the worlds of film, television and sports to play for a first place prize pool estimated at $25,000. Past celebrity supporters included Jon Favreau (Swingers, Rudy), Willie Garson (Sex and the City), Vince Van Patten (World Poker Tour) and Jeremy Sisto (Six Feet Under). The buy-in for this event is $200, with $20 from every entry and re-buy going to the MADD supported cause. Audi has donated a VIP fleet of cars and drivers for the event as part of MADD's "Designated Driver" program guaranteeing a safe ride home from the event. Other sponsors include High Roller Magazine and AM570. "Hollywood Poker is very excited to be teaming up with MADD and Exit 131 Productions to be a part of this worthwhile cause," said Hollywood Poker star Vince Van Patten. "This is part of Hollywood Poker's philanthropy program where we bring poker and charities together. We hope that this event continues to be an ongoing success." These events promote and raise money for the Fall 2006 production of Exit 131, an original screenplay that tells the story of an ex-high school football star, returning home in search of forgiveness for the death of a 15-year-old girl he knew in high school. MADD has agreed to allow the filmmaker Kyle Gates Pagach to produce and promote the project, with the organization as a beneficiary, from charitable donations, corporate sponsorships and charity driven events. In return, the film will become part of MADD's School Outreach Program and the organization will use the film as a catalyst for teenagers to create dialogue focusing on the negative effects of underage drinking and impaired driving.
