Hollywood Casino And DeBartolo Bring Last Casino to Louisiana

DALLAS -- The Louisiana Gaming Control Board has granted the state's fifteenth and final riverboat license to Hollywood/DeBartolo Entertainment Louisiana. Hollywood Casino Corporation and DeBartolo Entertainment competed against five other gaming companies for the license.

Hollywood/DeBartolo intends to construct the $194 million Hollywood Casino Resort at Cane's Landing in Bossier City. The resort will include the following:

• 480-foot long by 130-foot wide casino riverboat -- the largest casino riverboat in Louisiana, with a 30,000 square foot gaming facility to be located on a single level
• 400-room resort hotel with a health spa and a 30,000 square foot convention facility
• 80,000 square foot Hollywood-themed pavilion
• 18-hole golf course, club house and pro shop
• 150,000 square foot highly themed retail entertainment center.

RiverPlace at Cane's Landing Hollywood Casino Corporation will operate the complex, with the exception of RiverPlace, under a long-term management contract. RiverPlace will be developed, financed and operated by the recently merged Simon DeBartolo Group and will be anchored by movie theaters and large-sized restaurants to become a major attraction, much like the company's very successful Forum Shops at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

"Customers will have the incentive to stay longer to experience the most spectacular casino concept combined with the most successful retail concept in the United States. Our teaming up with DeBartolo Entertainment and the Simon DeBartolo Group is a winning combination."
