RiverPlace at Cane's Landing Hollywood Casino Corporation will operate the complex, with the exception of RiverPlace, under a long-term management contract. RiverPlace will be developed, financed and operated by the recently merged Simon DeBartolo Group and will be anchored by movie theaters and large-sized restaurants to become a major attraction, much like the company's very successful Forum Shops at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. "Hollywood Casino Resort at Cane's Landing will be the largest destination resort in the state of Louisiana and will have a tremendous impact on the local business economy of the Bossier City/Shreveport market," said Jack E. Pratt, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Hollywood Casino Corporation. "Customers will have the incentive to stay longer to experience the most spectacular casino concept combined with the most successful retail concept in the United States. Our teaming up with DeBartolo Entertainment and the Simon DeBartolo Group is a winning combination." Added Melvin Simon, Chairman of the Simon DeBartolo Group, "Our experience with the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace had demonstrated that specialty retail and gaming entertainment are a natural fit. We look forward to applying that formula to this project in the Shreveport/Bossier City market." |
