High speed multi-coin gaming solution available in Canada

15 September 2000

Canada (Press Release) -- September 15, 2000 - Coin Mechanisms Inc, (CMI), has forged an alliance with Astrosys International Limited (ASY), who has granted CMI the exclusive rights to offer ASYs flagship Microcoin QL coin validator to the Canadian Gaming market.

With Canada on the verge of introducing a new 25c coin to its existing quarter, looney and tooney currencies, a true multi-coin, high speed validator is now available which is capable of accepting all of these coins without compromising the customer or the venue.

Designed from first principles, the Microcoin QL is an Australian Design Award 2000 winning electronic coin validator, whose key gaming benefits can be summarized for four important issues speed, multi-coin, security and last but not least, reliability.

The Canadian gaming industry does not only have to depend upon customized token solutions to resolve issues with high speed multi-coin coin acceptance. Our generic, coin-based solution is now available through the Microcoin QL stated Rick Currie, VP of Marketing & Sales for CMI.

We are very excited to offer Canadian casinos and provincial lotteries a genuine solution not only to this long-term issue but also for the challenge created by the introduction of new coins. With our strong market presence and the inherent qualities of the Microcoin QL, we expect to capture a large portion of the slot and VLT markets in Canada, Currie explained.

The Microcoin QL is a success waiting to happen. This strategic alliance reinforces the strength of our new product as a secure, high technology solution for coin-based gaming products, said Robert Bird, International Marketing Manager for ASY.

The Canadian gaming industry will no doubt benefit from our product through CMI, one of the leading and most experienced players in the coin business. The end result is that both venues and players will find that machines equipped with the Microcoin QL offer reliability and fast coin throughput. At the end of the day, we have developed a simple yet sophisticated solution that works, said Bird.

The Microcoin QL will be featured at the Coin Mechanisms stand #623 and the Astrosys International stand # 2271 at the industrys largest gaming show, the World Gaming Congress & Expo held at Las Vegas October 18-20.
