Head of California Gambling Ring Slain26 June 2003CALIFORNIA – As reported by the San Francisco Tribune: “Oakland police now say the man slain as he ate in a Chinese restaurant was the convicted former head of one of the East Bay's most active Chinese gambling rings. “Chris Huie was shot to death late Tuesday as he had dinner at the Legendary Palace restaurant just a block from police headquarters. “…Huie was convicted two years ago of running a bookmaking operation from his home and also has other convictions on his record…” |
