Harrah's(R) Selects Lexington(R) Services for Global Reservations

25 June 1998

DALLAS and MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Harrah's(R) Entertainment (NYSE: HET) is the newest member of Lexington(R) Services, a leading global provider of hotel reservations in North America. The alliance enables travel agents throughout the world to book rooms and access detailed information about all of Harrah's hotels and casinos on the major Global Distribution Systems (GDSs).

Harrah's is tapping Lexington Services to increase its visibility among the more than 600,000 travel agents and planners worldwide.

"As the only true national casino company, with more properties in more locations than any of our competitors, joining with a company of the caliber of Lexington Services can help us to conveniently reach more potential customers that are not familiar with Harrah's or our products," said John Romeo, director of teleservices at Harrah's. "In these competitive markets, Lexington Services will allow us to provide domestic and international travel agents with easy access to information on all of Harrah's properties via the GDSs. Lexington Services also has an outstanding track record for addressing the unique needs of a casino company."

Harrah's also is tapping Lexington's new LexLink(SM) OnLine service for better revenue management. Romeo pointed out that Lexington is the only third-party reservations provider that is able to offer access to its reservation system through this service.

"Their service allows us to easily manage inventory, download reservations and access up-to-the-minute information on productivity and guest arrivals," Romeo said.

Harrah's, one of the most recognized brand names in the casino entertainment industry, currently operates casinos/hotels in Nevada, New Jersey, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and casinos without hotels in Arizona, Illinois, North Carolina and Washington.

"We are very pleased about our new relationship with Harrah's Entertainment and look forward to partnering with the company to expand the exposure of their top-notch hotels and casinos," said Zolon Wilkins III, senior vice president of development and operations for Lexington Services. "Our individualized approach to expanding the exposure of our member hotels differentiates us from other reservations services. We partner with our member-hotels to offer the most comprehensive and technologically advanced products and services available. Whether they are small, independent hotels or large hotel chains, our members see measurable results—worldwide exposure and an increase in bookings."

Founded in 1991 and backed by the Wilkins family's more than 40 years in the hospitality industry, Lexington Services Associates, Ltd. provides voice and electronic reservation services for more than 2,100 independent and chain hotels in 48 countries worldwide. The company's central reservations office, located in Irving/Las Colinas, Texas is connected to all major Global Distribution Systems (GDSs) and the Internet and is accessible by travel agents and planners under the access code LM in the GDSs, as well as by home and business computers via the Internet (through TravelWeb and Microsoft Expedia.com).
