Harrah's proposed casino gets support14 January 2008KANSAS -- As reported by the Wichita Eagle: "At least one of the Mulvane casino proposals is likely to survive the endorsement wars in Sumner County. "Four of the five Mulvane City Council members say they are leaning toward approving the $500 million resort proposed by Harrah's Entertainment-Sumner Gaming and Resorts, if the proposal meets state, county and city requirements. "...An endorsement by the council would represent a stunning turnabout for Harrah's, which was denied an endorsement by the Sumner County Commission last month. "Harrah's representatives will present the proposal to the council Wednesday in the Mulvane High School Auditorium. Council members are expected to vote after taking comments from the public. "...Last month, county commissioners endorsed casino plans for Wellington from Penn National Gaming and Marvel Gaming-Binion Family Trust, and left out Harrah's and another Mulvane proposal by MGM Mirage-Foxwoods Development-Chisholm Creek Ventures..."
