Mississippi – As reported by the Mississippi Sun Herald: "An Alabama grandmother won a $3,951,954 jackpot at Casino Magic Biloxi on Tuesday night. "Ruth Carlee of Columbiana, Ala., a town about 20 minutes south of Birmingham, hit a progressive jackpot on the 25-cent IGT Wheel of Fortune slot machine. "Carlee, who works part time for a direct mail company and has 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, said she sat down at the slot machine with a bankroll of $20. "After 20 minutes of play, Carlee said she hit the jackpot. Lights started flashing and bells went off. "…`I plan to pay off everything I owe, help my family, put a new roof on my sister's house,' she said. `I want to do something for my other sister, who is sick with bone cancer.'" |
