Gaming Standards Association Appoints President29 October 2002RENO, Nevada – (Press Release) -- The Gaming Standards Association(GSA), an international trade association that defines, develops and promotes interoperability standards for the world's gaming industry, today announced the appointment of Peter DeRaedt as President. With a background that includes Electrical Engineering and Business Management degrees, DeRaedt brings more than 16 years of international gaming experience that encompasses co-founding a gaming product company, systems management and gaming product development. "Gaining DeRaedt as President is a significant 'win' for the GSA," said Gregg Solomon, Chairman of the Board of the Gaming Standards Association and senior vice president of operations of Mandalay Resort Group. "With an organization that is comprised of more than 165 of the world's top gaming companies, the GSA required a President who had in-depth gaming experience coupled with an extensive array of international business acumen. Certainly, DeRaedt is more than qualified in both of these fields." "I am very honored to be selected by the GSA Board to be the President of the Gaming Standards Association," said Peter DeRaedt. "As casinos and other gaming establishments around the world work to increase their gaming productivity, one area that is often overlooked and misunderstood is how games interconnect and communicate. I am very excited to be leading the GSA in its efforts to further catalyze interoperability standards that impact the worldwide gaming market." Peter was the founding Board Chairman of the GSA, however he left that position in 2001 to explore other opportunities. Prior to accepting the President position, DeRaedt was the Corporate VP of Product Development and IP of the Monaco-based MIS Group. He is also the co-founder of a Reno-based engineering corporation that is active in the gaming industry. As well, DeRaedt brings an extensive array of international business and gaming expertise gained from working with gaming enterprises in Belgium, South Africa, Australia and the United States. With more than 165 members participating in workgroups, committees and forums, the Gaming Standards Association is an international trade association representing gaming manufacturers, suppliers, operators and regulators. GSA facilitates the identification, definition, development, promotion and implementation of open standards to enable innovation, education and communication for the benefit of the gaming industry. |
