Gaming Partners Int'l Reports Name and Trading Symbol Change

1 September 2004

LAS VEGAS -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Gaming Partners International Corporation (Nasdaq:GPIC), a leading manufacturer and supplier of casino table game equipment, today announced that it has completed its name change. The company has also acquired a new Nasdaq trading symbol (GPIC) and Cusip No. (_36467A_____). The name change was approved by a vote of stockholders at the company's annual meeting held on May 26, 2004. The company's established brand names such as Paul-Son, Bourgogne et Grasset, or BG, Bud Jones and T-K will remain unchanged.

Gerard Charlier, president and CEO, commented: "We are excited about launching our new corporate name, which we believe more accurately reflects our mission and positioning within the gaming industry worldwide. Our goal is to be not just a supplier, but a true partner working in consort with legal casinos throughout the world for the customization and supply of specialized gaming products, including casino chips, dice, cards and other associated products required for the efficient management of table game operations."

Charlier emphasized that the name change follows nearly two years of "intensive efforts to reorganize and improve operations" since the business combination of the former Paul-Son Gaming Corporation and Etablissements Bourgogne et Grasset S.A. effected on September 12, 2002. "At that time," Charlier continued, "we essentially created a new company. Since then, we have worked hard to realize the benefits of the combination by eliminating redundancies and duplicate operations, building our executive team, strengthening infrastructure and expanding our product and technology base. Our new name represents the next logical step in this ongoing process, as we strive to build a larger, stronger and more successful corporation."

The company manufactures and supplies casino chips, table layouts, playing cards, dice, gaming furniture, table accessories and other products that are used with casino table games such as blackjack, poker, baccarat, craps and roulette. The company is headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada, with offices in Beaune, France; San Luis, Mexico; Atlantic City, New Jersey; and other locations. The company sells its casino products directly to licensed casinos throughout the world.
