Gamblers Hired Fraud Gang13 July 2000AUSTRALIA – July 13, 2000 – As reported by the Herald Sun: "On 12 July 2000, a court heard that Asian tourists were recruited to defraud businesses of millions of dollars. In the Queensland District Court, seven Asian men were jailed with sentences ranging from two to five years for charges including credit-card fraud…It was claimed that upon being approached, the men were provided with counterfeit credit cards…Fraudulent transactions made with the credit cards amounted to $A266,000." |
