Foxwoods Police Brutality Case Settled

A federal jury recently awarded US$200,000 to a Connecticut man who claimed that he had been the victim of state police brutality at the Foxwoods Resort Casino. This week, Hassan Sabir, 44, felt that justice had finally been served after his 1996 confrontation at the casino with state police whom he said beat and strangled him after he had gone to complain about a broken keno machine. The lawsuit named state Police Detective James C. Jowett, Detective Dennis Lisee, Trooper Lewis Fusaro and the State of Connecticut.
