Four Tickets Share $100 Million Florida Jackpot

TALLAHASSEE, Florida – As reported by the Associated Press: "A lump sum of more than $14 million or $25 million paid over 30 years. That's the choice facing those who hold each of the four winning tickets of Florida Lotto's second-largest jackpot ever.

"Winning tickets for Saturday's $100 million jackpot were bought east, west, north and south -- Jacksonville, Fort Pierce north of West Palm Beach, Marco Island in southwest Florida and Bonifay in the Panhandle.

"But the Florida Lottery doesn't know much more than that, spokesman Sam Oliver said yesterday, adding that the winners can't claim their prizes until today.

"…Winners have up to six months to claim their winnings -- unless they want the upfront one-time prize of $14,281,343.70. Winners who opt for the lump-sum prize -- and most do -- have 60 days to present the winning ticket at Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.

"But some winners still decide to get 30 annual payments. For this jackpot, the payment each year would be about $833,333, plus interest…"
