Former Gambling Parlor Owner Charged2 August 2000TEGA CAY, SOUTH CAROLINA – August 2, 2000 – As reported by Associated Press: "Police have charged an outspoken video gambling advocate and former gambling parlor owner with unlawful possession of a machine. "[Dion Pierre] Moore, who owned Goldrush in Fort Mill, was York County coordinator for a pro-video gambling organization that was working to sway voters to approve the payouts from the machines in a referendum. That vote was struck down by the state Supreme Court, but the part of the law banning the games as of July 1 was left intact..." |
