Flying Elvi to drop in on casino grand opening

POJOAQUE, New Mexico -- As reported by the Santa Fe New Mexican: "Elvis Presley impersonators will parachute into Pojoaque today to highlight the grand opening of New Mexico's largest resort.

"Pojoaque Pueblo's Buffalo Thunder Resort & Casino includes a 61,000-square-foot casino, a 395-room Hilton hotel, the 36-hole Towa Golf Course and 66,000 square feet of meeting and convention space.

"More than a thousand people showed up for the complex's 'soft opening' Aug. 12, even as finishing work continued on many of its shops and restaurants.

"Today's grand-opening ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. with a Native American blessing and buffalo dance, speeches by Pojoaque Pueblo Gov. George Rivera and other principals, followed by an 11:15 a.m. landing and stage show by The Flying Elvi...
