Florida Man Says He Had an Affair with Accused Killer15 July 2000PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA -- July 15, 2000 – As reported by the Philadelphia Inquirer: "A month after Kim Vo married Michael Coll, whom she is accused of murdering, she began a relationship with a 60-year-old widower she met at an Atlantic City casino, the man testified yesterday. "…Vo, 46, is on trial, charged with the first-degree murder of Coll, a 67-year-old Upper Darby man whom she met at the Atlantic City casinos in January 1999 and married in June. Vo is accused of bludgeoning and strangling Coll, then hiding his body in his bedroom closet last Thanksgiving. "Vo, who was deeply in debt, then put three forged checks totaling $23,500 into her bank account and headed to the casinos, where she was arrested Nov. 27 at a blackjack table, according to trial testimony. "…Dimitri Contostavlos, the former Delaware County medical examiner, testified yesterday that Coll had been beaten and then strangled. Coll suffered at least eight blows to the head and 10 additional blows to his body, Contostavlos said. "Travis told the jury that after he met Vo in July, she knocked on his hotel-room door at 4:30 a.m., saying she needed a place to stay. They had sex, he testified, and then decided to go to Florida. Travis testified that he had a relationship with Vo from July through Nov. 3. In October, Vo opened a checking account with a $36,000 check from Travis, records show..." |
