Five Deck Frenzy(tm) Takes Video Poker to a New Level26 November 1997Las Vegas, Nev. -- Recognized video poker authority Lenny Frome remarked in a recent article that, with its innovative game, Five Deck Frenzy, Shuffle Master has taken video poker "sky high." Video poker enthusiasts are certainly finding Frome's comment to be true, as are the numerous casinos who are adding this exciting game to their casino floors. Five Deck Frenzy is unique in that it is the only video poker game to deal from five separate, independent decks of cards. The five decks provide the game with more winning combinations than standard draw poker and, according to Frome, " . . . causes a transformation of video poker like going 'through the looking glass,' creating a brand new perspective on the game." The game uses IGT's MegaJackpot format, a wide area progressive system that offers a jackpot starting at $200,000 which grows as play increases. The jackpot is triggered by the top hand possible in the game - five aces of spades. The first jackpot hit in June for $237,089 at the Fiesta Casino/Hotel, and as more games come on-line, it's possible the jackpot may hit as frequently as once every ten days. But even players who don't hit the progressive jackpot will enjoy the opportunity to make more winning combinations than ever before. The high hit frequency of four-of-a-kind and five- of-a-kind combinations brings players to a "playing frenzy." |
