First Inter-Casino Game in Canada/ Jeu De Puissance16 November 1997MONTREAL -- On November 14, the three Quebec-run casinos in Hull, Charlevoix and Montreal became the first gaming establishments in Canada to offer an inter-casino game. Slot machine enthusiasts will be happy to learn that JEU DE PUISSANCE, the new game, offers the chance to win a progressive jackpot of at least $500,000 with only a 75 cents bet. With the help of new communication technologies, all 74 inter-connected JEU DE PUISSANCE slot machines simultaneously offer players in all three Quebec casinos a chance at the minimum jackpot of half a million dollars, regardless of location or machine. Hockey legend, Guy Lafleur, introduced JEU DE PUISSANCE, the new game that evokes the national sport. As part of the launch of this Canadian first, the Societe des casinos du Quebec inc. if offering thirty lucky people the chance to see a hockey game from a box in either the Molson Centre or the Corel Center (in the case of Casino de Hull participants), accompanied by the famous player himself.
