Fired Cocktail Waitress Sues Casino for Age Discrimination

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- July 3, 2000 – As reported by Associated Press: "A fired cocktail waitress has sued Laughlin's River Palms hotel-casino, claiming that the hotel denied her equal treatment because of her age, court records show.

"Toni Engmark, 43, claims she was terminated for filing a complaint with the Nevada Equal Rights Commission in which she argued that one of her bosses assigned better shifts to younger workers, according to the June 20 filing in U.S. District Court.

"…River Palms management claims Engmark had threatened another employee, leading to her March 1, 1999, firing, court records show…"
