Experts Converge at Florida Gaming Summit

MIAMI, Florida – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Leading experts from Florida politics and
law, South Florida business, tourism agencies, the gaming industry, Indian
country and racetracks will converge Oct. 17-18 in Miami for the inaugural
Florida Gaming Summit.
Florida state Sen. Steven Geller, American Gaming Association President
Frank J. Fahrenkopf Jr., Seminole Gaming CEO Jim Allen, Deutsche Bank Managing
Director Marc Falcone, Hallandale Mayor Joy Cooper and Pompano Park Secretary
Allan Solomon are among the many distinguished speakers who will address
several hundred gaming and civic leaders at the Hyatt Regency.
They will analyze the impact of slot machines on Broward County; the
outlook for growth of tribal gaming; the relationship of tourism and gaming;
and Florida's emerging position as a U.S. gaming capitol. In the featured
panel, experts in politics and law will examine the dynamic political
landscape in Florida, including the definition of "slot machine," the need for
a state gaming policy, the competitive position for the state's 22 other
parimutuel facilities that will not have slot machines, and other cutting-edge
issues.
