Expansion and Remodeling in Store for Rhythm & Blues and Country Casino Complex

LAS VEGAS -- Lady Luck Gaming Corp. (Nasdaq/NM:LUCK) announced on September 15 the commencement of construction of a 305-room hotel on the site of the company's Country Casino in Lula, Miss.

The company says it will use existing cash to pay for the project, which is budgeted at approximately $15 million.

The new hotel will include 41 suites and will be adjacent to the Country Casino. The Lady Luck Rhythm & Blues Hotel-Casino and the Lady Luck Country Casino are two distinctly themed facilities, sharing an adjacent, common entertainment pavilion. The new facility will be operated as part of the Country Casino, separate from the hotel operations of the Rhythm & Blues property.

The company is also launching a $500,000 remodeling of the interior of the 173 rooms of the Rhythm & Blues Hotel. As of Sept. 11, 1998, the Rhythm & Blues Hotel reported a year-to-date occupancy of 91%.

The Rhythm & Blues and Country Casino complex is located approximately 60 miles south of Memphis, Tenn. at the foot of the Helena, Ark. Bridge, which crosses the Mississippi River from Arkansas to Mississippi. It first opened in June of 1994, with the subsequent opening of the Country Casino in May of 1995.
