Emerald Casino License Sale Approved29 July 2004ILLINOIS – As reported by the Chicago Tribune: "Hastening an effort to build a casino in Rosemont, the Illinois Gaming Board approved a plan Wednesday that allows bankrupt Emerald Casino to sell its gambling license to Isle of Capri Casinos Inc., despite opposition from state Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan. "The approval removes a major hurdle for Isle of Capri in trying to buy the license and open a casino in Rosemont on the site where Emerald Casino wanted to build before the board rejected that plan in 2001. "The Gaming Board still must sign off on a final change, possibly next week, before Isle of Capri is allowed to apply for the license and undergo an investigation by the board's staff into whether the company is suitable to run an Illinois casino…" |
